Basket Slough, June 7, 2023
One of the many National Wildlife Refuges in Oregon, Basket Slough has a large display of wildflowers in the spring. While the area is noted for the Canada geese population that visit, hiking here goes through open grassland meadows and into an oak forest. Lots of woodpeckers and a few owls also live here.
The first time I came here to Basket Slough this little pale blue flax covered an entire hillside. Not today though.
